Volunteers play an important role in our congregational life and programs

The time, energy and talent of volunteers is the backbone of St. John’s congregation. Often, we do have a challenge of finding people to serve—on committees and for events to fulfill the congregation’s mission, in education and service programs, and in support of worship. But here at St. John’s we have our focus on Christ-centered volunteers with our mind-set on the skills and passions of our people and we encourage each person to serve "when God has equipped him or her to do so," be it in the church or not. We trust that there are people with skills and passions to meet the needs of the congregation. And supporting these people honors their gift-based ministry and fulfills the Great commission as we are sent out to serve.

Parish Nurse

The parish nurse role reclaims the historic roots of professional nursing. Aspects of health and healing are embodied in the role and responsibilities of the parish nurse. The parish nurse practices under the scope and standards of practice and the ethical code of nursing and serves as an integrator of the physical, emotional, and spiritual well being of the congregation. Wellness education, pastoral visitation, and resources are all provided by St. John’s Parish nurse.
